Good Intentions

Happy New Year to you all.

What is it about the new year that gives so many of us this new found energy? We have such good intentions don’t we. We feel like we can truly overcome bad habits, start fresh, focus positive energy on tasks that we have been procrastinating on. It can almost feel like a rebirth.

Very often though, this new burst of energy quickly fades. It’s just too much work.

I don’t know where you are spiritually right now, but if you have accepted Christ as your personal Saviour, do you remember how that felt? It feels very different for each one of us. Some experience the need to share their experience with the world.

For me, well, I just felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I could actually visualize a cement wall crumbling down. It was such a release.

Psalm 40 (3-4) tells us this .... He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

This new relationship with Christ is not like the good intentions that we have at the beginning of each new year. Why? Because we can throw those good intentions to the side when things get tough, we can’t throw God away.

Once you have truly accepted Christ, your relationship with Him will grow. Your peace of mind, your sense of contentment, even your love for your fellow man will surpass what others cannot comprehend. Will we grow weary from time to time, procrastinate, even question our Saviour. We will. But understand this, when God has you, He will not let you go.

I encourage you this year to remember how you felt when you first accepted Christ. Take that with you as you tackle your bad habit, the exercise program you want to start or whatever it may be.

If you are here and have not accepted Christ as your personal Saviour, I have to tell you I am very excited for you. You have so much to look forward to!

I would love to hear any questions or comments or even your testimony. When one has a question, know that others have the same or similar question.

Your testimony, there is power in every story my friend. Why? God is the author. Don’t be afraid to share it and I would love to share your questions, comments and testimonies with my readers.

Until next time!
